Tissot PRC 200 Men’s T055.427.11.017.00 Review

The Tissot PRC200 is a Tissot quartz chronograph watch, the official watch of the Tour de France. Tissot is an established Swiss watch manufacturer that has been manufacturing watches since 1853 and is best known for producing the first pocket watch with two time zones, as well as the introduction of antimagnetic watches in mass production.

Are you looking for a watch where you can use it every time? Tissot T055.427.11.017.00 PRC 200 automatic watch would be a great piece to consider in your watch collection. With its charming appearance, it is a fashionable and formal watch with a water resistance that is ideal for sports. Stainless steel case with a stainless steel bracelet. Solid bezel made of stainless steel. Black dial with silver-colored hands and indexes. Arabic numerals mark the 6, 9 and 12 o’clock positions. Minute Markers. Tachymeter around the outer rim.

This Tissot PRC200 starts with a nicely detailed polished and brushed stainless steel case measuring 43.3mm without the screwdown crown. The lugs are 20 millemeter, case thickness is essential at 16.1 millemeter. The special feature of the case are the details on the sides of the case, which have a slot on each side, which goes from the lug to the lug. This detail gives the watch a more expensive appearance and is something that is not seen every day.

The crystal is flat sapphire and fits perfectly to the box, without distortion or excessive glare. The dial as mentioned above is perfect. The dial has a beautiful design with a large seconds dial and a subtle Arabic in the chapter ring every 15 minutes.

The quick start date is 3, with a round window framed by a stainless steel ring. The upper sub dial at 12 is the chronograph minute counter (as printed on the dial with “minutes”) and the lower sub dial at 6 is the chronograph hour for up to six hours. The large auxiliary number at 9 is the second hand for the watch, while the second hand for the chrono is a simple silver hand.  While the watch can look cheapish in stock photos, they look much when worn on the wrist, Another nice touch on the dial are the stainless steel rings around each sub-dial. They do not look glaring and add a touch of class to the overall presentation.

The watch is factory-designed for 200 meters waterproof.

The automatic movement winds very gently and has a sinuous sound that is very reminiscent of the Lemania 5100, which makes sense, as this is the movement on which it is based. The accuracy of the out-of-the-box feature is about +10 seconds over 24 hours, which is very acceptable. Power reserve is a fine 51-3 / 4 hours.  One thing most people appreciate about Tissot is that they put plenty of threads on their crown tubes, as the crown on this PRC200 screws down with almost five full turns, The crown is knurled, but it could be a little larger, since it is a bit difficult to grasp. The accuracy of the chronograph seems to be good and the movement stops, starts and returns with the expected crispiness. A six-hour chrono is a bit strange, but it exceeds a 30-minute time trial. The pushers are plain stainless steel with nothing to make them stand out.

Tissot gave Tissot PRC 200 Men’s T055.427.11.017.00 a wonderful presentation, with its drawer-style box that holds the watch. The history of the brand comes with the watch also. A polishing cloth is also included inside the watch package. A beautiful box is always a welcome surprise and especially for the price of this watch, this presentation exceeds many pieces the same prices.
